FUSION: live vinyl and food pairing
In collaboration with Hi-Note radio programming and music director Dan Lim, Annie Faye Cheng explores FUSION: a concept that is so celebrated in music (yet, has been derided in the culinary world for its perceived ‘inauthenticity’). We’re looking to music as an example of how fusion has thrived, and how intermingling foodways are themselves also a fact of history and culture. The thesis: that earnest and conscious creativity in the form of fusion across disciplines can be pretty damn magical. The menu and music pairing were created in deep collaboration, moved by genres like mando-jazz, shidaiqu, city pop, jazz-funk, funk fusion, soul, samba, disco and more.
Each timed seating is ~1.5 hour, with live vinyl ushering you through three different dishes & something sweet to close.
