AWRA

    AWRA

AWRA is an extension of Barangay’s BAHAY KUBO party series. BAHAY KUBO – an immersive concept deeply rooted in traditional Filipino life. This concept invites everyone to contribute to the collective rhythm of our events – a collaborative effort, a shared narrative where each individual shapes the experience.

AWRA extends to a create a safe space for queer, marginalized POC. The local queer tongue of the Philippine LGBTQIA+ community highjacks this word “AWRA,” from the Western epistemology and uses it in queer tropical performances. AWRA is a reincarnation born into the new contexts and politics of music in the queer community.
